This charming spot, ideally located near the San Pedro train station for Machu Picchu and the bustling centre of Cuzco, offers a comfortable experience without breaking the bank. During my visit, the welcoming staff went above and beyond-one particularly memorable moment was when they managed my laundry, returning it post-tour despite my late arrival. The owner is genuinely lovely, accommodating our early 7 AM arrival by providing a room for a few hours while ours was readied. Accommodations are functional-a comfortable bed with plentiful duvets to fight off the chilly nights. Showers can be hit or miss, but when hot water flows, it's quite enjoyable. Luggage storage was appreciated during my Machu Picchu day trip; a sensible touch for anyone exploring the region. While amenities may not scream luxury, the atmosphere is warm, and the value for money is evident. Thus, La Estacion serves as a judicious choice for discerning travelers seeking both comfort and genuine hospitality on a budget.
